On September 24, 2023, Grace United Methodist Church of Dalhart, Texas, was chartered as a new church in the NWTX Conference!

The worship service was held where they met in the welcome center of an apartment complex. Rev. Felicia Hopkins preached, and Rev. Josh Stueve, pastor of St. John’s UMC, celebrated a Dalhart youth in his completion of confirmation. Rev. Jeff Fisher and Rev. Robert Burk, pastor of Amarillo FUMC, both were present to assist with the service.

Following the service, the chartering service took place with a luncheon celebration hosted at a member’s home.

We are excited to share this new start in Dalhart! As a Wesley Community Group, they came together to discern their purpose and mission and became an official United Methodist Church in their community. We celebrate with them and our other newly launched church, Amarillo FUMC. Seek where God is calling you and your church! Is there a new or fresh vision you are being called to step into?
