Here you will find information about our history, our ministry and mission, and our new ministry season of unifying with the Central and North Texas Conference to form the Horizon Texas Conference. Together we serve in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the World.
About Us
The Northwest Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church was a thriving and vital area of ministry throughout its 115 years of ministry as a conference. It was a part of the South Central Jurisdiction and encompassed just over 200 churches in 2022. The area over the northwest area of Texas, from the top of the Panhandle down to Abilene, Midland, and Vernon, as the northeast border.
Our Legacy
The Northwest Texas Conference was filled with impactful ministries across the region, local and global mission and ministry impact, and areas of focus for all generations. Our legacy is rooted in grace that moves beyond the horizon!
